Let me be the first to welcome you to the URBN Leaf Cannabis Company blog! This blog, in conjunction with our social
media accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat, will be a place for you to
find fun and interesting information about recreational cannabis products and
accessories that we are pleased to bring to you.
I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to the URBN Leaf Cannabis Co. team
– and let you know what our goals are in this exciting new industry. URBN Leaf Cannabis Co. is the creation of
Vickram Minhas and Craig Ruether. Two
local Peace Country guys – born-and-raised in Grande Prairie, Alberta – came together with a plan to build safe, clean spaces for people to come and learn about and buy cannabis products and accessories. Nikki Pepper joined forces with us as our
Team Leader in Valleyview – and she brings a passion and knowledge of cannabis that is hard to beat. A stop by our
Valleyview store for a chat with Nikki about the varieties of cannabis and the accessories available for consumption is time well spent!
Our primary goal is: through working together as a team, to provide our customers
with access to knowledgeable staff and information, and to offer a satisfying
selection of products that will fulfill all your recreational cannabis needs
and help to make the most of your cannabis experiences.
In line with achieving that goal, I’d like to provide an update on where we are at with our stores. I hope you’re as
excited as I am for them to open!
Firstly, I want to thank everyone for their patience as we navigate our way through this new industry. It has been a lengthy and time-consuming process to get to this point on our timeline. As you may have heard, there is currently a cannabis shortage in Alberta. Due to this shortage, our AGLC (Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis) license is on temporary hold. As of this writing, I cannot say when we will be receiving cannabis – but I’m hoping it will be sooner rather than later. Once our doors
open though I welcome you to come down and check out our new digs and see our
selection of cannabis & accessories for yourself.
I’m proud to announce we will be opening our Valleyview store on Tuesday, January 15,
2019! There won’t be any cannabis available yet – but we will be selling all kinds of nifty accessories to help you consume. Our hours for the first few weeks will be limited to noon to 6 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and noon to 8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. A big thank you is due to all the people whose hard work helped get us here.
Our Grande Prairie store will be opening as soon as the cannabis starts flowing our way – please stay tuned to this blog or the social media platform of your choice (or all of them) for updates on when that will be. And keep checking back for updates on stores in other communities to come also!
